[Vancouver Province, Wed., Feb. 18, 1953]
Dewey Soriano, general manager of the Caps, has acquired two more players from the parent Seattle Rainiers under their new deal of closer co-operation.
Old favorite Len Tran was purchased outright, and is leading candidate for the Caps’ third base job. Lonnie Meyers, who had a try-out with the local WIL team before, is the other new Vancouver player. A pitcher, Meyers had a 12-12 record with Tucson in the class C Arizona-Texas League last season.
