EDMONTON, May 18 — The Calgary Stampeders made their Renfrew Park debut a winner Monday night when they came from behind to defeat the Edmonton Eskimos 6-4 in a Western International Baseball League game.
The game was the first of a four-game series.
Trailing 3-0 after three innings, Stamps rebounded for two runs in the fourth and drove Eskimo starter Jack Widner to cover with a four-run barrage, in the seventh.
The big blow of the game was Rocky Tedesco's two-run homer to put the Stamps to front 4-3 in the seventh inning.
Eskimos threatened in the ninth inning, but big Ed Kapp, who went the distance for Calgary, tightened up. Clint Weaver, Eskimos' leftfielder, connected safely in his first four trips, to the plate, including a two-run triple in the third inning.

VICTORIA, B.C., May 18 — A nifty three-hit pitching job by Pete Hernandez lifted the Vancouver Capilanos to an easy 6-0 win over the Victoria Tyees Monday in a Western International Baseball League fixture here.
Chuck Davis had a pair of doubles and a single for the Caps, bringing in two runs.
It was Hernandez´ fourth win of the year and first since cutting his foot ten days ago.
The Caps got off to a great start in the first inning when Nap Gully booted two fly balls in left field to give them two runs. He was immediately benched by manager Cece Garriott.
The teams were scheduled to fly over to Vancouver for the second game of a Victoria day doubleheader but rain washed it out.
