Leon Day, going the route for his fourth victory, had a three-hit shutout going into the ninth when Calgary blasted five hits good for four runs. A double play saved Esks from further damage.
Edmonton drove starter Bill Francis from the Calgary hill in the first inning and before Eddie Kapp could put out the fire, five runs had scored.
