SALEM — Salem, after winning the opener 6-3, was blanked 5-0 by Tri-City in a Western International League doubleheader here Sunday.
It was the first shutout the league-leading Senators have suffered since early in the season.
Bob Snyder, who went the route for Tri-City, scattered six hits to Salem batters.
Third Baseman Jack Warren led Tri-City's third inning five-run spurt with his three-run homer. Manager Edo Vanni and Vic Buccola drove in the other tallies.
Home runs by Jerry Ballard and Bob Nelson highlighted Salem's scoring in the first game. Ballard scored two runs in the second inning and Nelson collected his in the sixth with the bases empty.

Caps Cut Veterans
VANCOUVER, July 11—The Vancouver Capilanos have chopped their roster Sunday with the announcement that first baseman Jim Wert and catcher Don Lundberg have been removed. Both have returned home to Seattle.
