SALEM — Salem's winning streak ended at seven Sunday afternoon, but the Senators won the night game of a double-header to retain first place in the Western International League.

YAKIMA - Wenatchee Bears, cellar-dwellers in the Western International League, popped out of the depths to trip the Wenatchee Chiefs on both ends of a twin bill here Sunday, 4-3 in 10 innings and 1-0 in the abbreviated nightcap.

LEWISTON —The Lewiston Broncs, determined not to lose any more ground, beat out an 8 to 4 win over the Spokane Indians Sunday to win the second game of a Western International League doubleheader.
The Broncs tallied once in the second inning of the nightcap after Ken Richardson and Bob Williams walked and Glen Tuckett doubled, sending in Richardson.
They struck again in the third inning when Clint Cameron slammed out a double. Larry Barton and Richardson walked to load the bases. Cameron then scored on a wild pitch, and Artie Wilson singled, scoring Barton and Richardson.
