KENNEWICK—Tri-City slugged out a 7-4 Western International League baseball victory over Vancouver Tuesday night but the Capilano manager immediately protested the result.
The protest by Harvey Storey was based on his charge that Player-manager Edo Vanni of Tri-City did not leave the dugout after he had been ousted from the game in the fifth inning.
Vanni was given the thumb when he protested well but too long a strike called on Des Charouhas. It was all oratory, without fisticuffs in contrast with what happened in games on at Tri-City last week.
The Braves picked up two runs in the first inning and added three more in the third to take a commanding lead before the Caps could push across a single tally in the fifth.
Jim Hedgecock got credit for the win against his former mates.
