YAKIMA, Wash. —Tri-City scored 21 runs—all of them earned—Thursday night on 26 hits off three Yakima pitchers to defeat Bears 21-3 in Western International League track meet, oops, baseball game.
The Braves started their hit parade in the first inning but were leading by a mere 3-2 at the beginning of the fourth when they scored three runs to start the slaughter that never let up until the eight-run ninth-inning.
In between, Nick Pesut, Tri-City catcher, got five hits in six times up, including two doubles, while knocking in four runs; Len Tran got four for six, including a two run homer and five runs batted in, and Manager Edo Vanni had four for seven.

LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewiston's pace-setting Broncs defeated Thursday night in a Western International League baseball game which was highlighted by Glenn Tuckett's home run.
Lewiston got off to a one-run lead in the second frame when Artie Wilson singled and Tuckett doubled. The Broncs picked up their second run in the third when Frank Goldberg, suffering a sudden attack of wildness, walked Nick Cannuli, hit Clint Cameron and walked Larry Martin on a wild pitch to allow Cannuli to score.
Tuckett's homer came in the sixth, followed by Cannuli's single, Al Heist's sacrifice hit and Larry Martin's single in the seventh for Lewiston's two other runs.
Vancouver scored its two runs in the eighth on singles by John Charlton, Jim Wert and Harvey Storey.
