LEWISTON, Idaho, April 29 — The Lewiston Broncs kept up their Western International Baseball League pace-setting Wednesday with a 10-3 victory over Wenatchee. The win gave Lewiston a 2-0 lead in the three-game series.

KENNEWICK, April 29 — A pinch-hit double gave Tri-City an 8-7 Western International League victory over Calgary Wednesday night to make it two straight for the Braves.
The double was rapped out by Rube Johnson in the bottom half of the eighth with two men on. It finally settled a see-saw tilt that had seen both teams take the lead three times.
Gus Stathos collected five of the eight Calgary hits in five trips to the plate. One was a homer in the seventh inning with the bases empty.
Nick Pesut led Tri-City, which got 13 hits off two Calgary twirlers, with four for four.

VANCOUVER, April 29 — The Vancouver Capilanos walked to a 9-3 baseball win over the Spokane Indians here Wednesday night in a Western International League game called in the seventh inning because of rain.
The Caps won the game in the third inning with five runs as pitcher Clyde DeWitt walked five men before he was yanked. In all, Spokane pitchers gave up 11 walks.
All the Spokane runs came in the second inning. DeWitt doubled to score two men following a single by Jim Command, a walk to Bill Holland and a single by Bill Sheets. The third run came in on an error by Frank Mascaro.
The hard-hitting Holland got two-for-two for a record of eight-for-nine so far in the series between the two teams.
The rain started in the second inning.

Beavers Option Moniz to Victoria of WI League
PORTLAND, April 29 — The Portland Beavers announced Wednesday the optioning of Outfielder Bob Moniz to Victoria of the Western International League. The move cut the Beaver roster to the Coast League limit of 21 men.
General Manager Bill Garbanno said Moniz was subject to 24-hour recall. Now at Hollywood with the Beavers, Moniz was expected to leave Thursday morning for Victoria, where he played last year.
