Spokes Get Cal
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 23—Portland Beavers of the Coast League announced today that pitcher Cal McIrvin was being turned over to Spokane Indians of the Western International League.
General manager Bill Mulligan said that completes a deal by which Portland acquired Joe Rossi from Spokane in 1951. McIrvin, a left-handed pitcher who can also play first base, performed mostly for Victoria in the W.I.L. this year, compiling a 13-4 record there.
