Calgary Expects Help From Acorns

PORTERVILLE, Tulare Co., March 29—Manager Gene Lillard of the Calgary Stampeders, training here, revealed he hopes to receive several players from the Oakland Pacific Coast League club after the Oaks open the PCL season Tuesday.
Lillard, formerly a manager in the California League, had three pitchers and a rookie infielder on the field yesterday. The latest arrival in camp is Al Lobate of Miami, Ariz., a 6 foot, 3 inch, 210 pound right handed hurler.
Lillard has scheduled his first exhibition game with the Wenatchee Chiefs, also of the Western International League, in Lindsay April 5th. The clubs will play again here April 6th. Wenatchee will train in Lindsay.
