Indians Dump Local Boy

Spokane Gets Third Hurler
SPOKANE, Jan. 24 — The Spokane Indians, seeking to add more depth to their pitching staff, Saturday traded former John Rogers High School catching star, Hank Hinz, to Middleboro of the Class D Mountain States League for pitcher Nick Buonato.
Hinz was used as a reserve catcher for Bill Sheets of the Western International League Indians last season. He hit .267 during brief appearances in most of 45 games.
Indian' President Roy Hotchkiss said Buonato, who was out of baseball last year, last saw action in 1950 when he posted a 22-8 record at Middleboro, He had an earned run average of 3.68 and went the distance in 18 of his wins.
Buonato boosts the Tribe's hurling staff to three, Jack Spring and Gordon Palm being the only 1952 holdovers.
