WENATCHEE, Nov. 21—Wenatchee fans have raised $17,300 to save their Western International League baseball franchise, General Manager Frankie Dasso reported today.
A Nov. 26 deadline has been set to reach the goal of $25,000.

Chiefs To Sign McCormick as Manager
WENATCHEE, Nov. 26—The Wenatchee Western International League baseball club’s drive to raise $20,000 to pay past team debts and assure a team for 1953 has been successful.
President Paul Thomas announced Wednesday that the goal has been reached and that Frankie Dasso, acting general manager for the past two months, has been given a year’s contract.
Dasso will attend the minor league meetings in Phoenix, Ariz., starting December 1 and outfielder Mike McCormick, who played with Portland of the Coast League last year, will be signed as playing-manager for next season, Thomas added.
