Edmonton Eskimos of the Western International Baseball League have signed third baseman Sam Kanelos and pitcher Jack Widner.
Kanelos, one of Brooklyn’s “bonus babies,” played last season with Spokane Indians, compiling a .294 average. Since 1950 he has played for Sacramento of the PCL and Tri-Cities.
Widner was with Binghamton of the Eastern League last season and prior to that played for Beaumont of the Texas League and Norfolk in the Piedmont League.
